Pre-K Arts

My students need paint, markers and dry erase markers.

My Students

Arts and crafts is a very important part of a Pre-K classroom.

There are 18 energetic three and four year old children in my class.

Our school includes students from pre-k to eighth grade. It is in a high poverty area, and about 95% of the student in the school receive free lunch. Our school is in a low-income neighborhood where the budget cuts have left no hope that materials will be purchased in the near future.

My Project

The students will use the paint at the easel and for other arts and crafts projects. By using paint students learn about color and texture. They also build their small motor skills, and that will be a benefit when they learn how to write. The markers will be used in the writing center and the arts and crafts center. My students will use them to draw and write. They love the bright color markers create when they draw. The dry erase markers will be used in the writing center and on the classroom white board. The students will use them to practice writing, and I will use them to write down things they share with me during group lessons.

Even though these are basic supplies that every Pre-K should have, we don't.

By adding these art and writing supplies to our room, you are enriching the classroom experiences of all of the students in my class.
