My Project
Any students want to learn how to throw on the wheel however our short 45 minute class periods do not allow them the extended time needed to set up materials practice adequately without the fear of failure and cleanup before the bell.
My students are very motivated to learn ceramics, but are forever challenged with lack of time to focus on learning this new skill.
With these wheels, we will be able to loan out to students much like a library book is loaned out if students have extended time at home that is uninterrupted and distracted they are much more likely to grasp wheel throwing.
This will allow them to excel in an area that is not only therapeutic, but also teaches them perseverance. This is important for many of my students because we are a very sports centered school district and these students need a place to feel successful.
