Practicing Compassion in Kindergarten

Help me give my students games to practice having compassion with others and rewards for showing compassion.

My Project

In Kindergarten learning through play is very important. I want my students to learn compassion through play. I would like games to give my students structure and rules to follow along with free play. While students are playing, they need to learn how other people feel while playing games. They need to understand how their opponent could feel while losing, how to work together, understand how others might see the game differently. While their opponent might be losing, it is a good skill to learn how to help them feel better and alleviate the bad feeling they could be having.

I will measure their understanding of compassion while watching them playing these games and how they are interacting with each other.

I will also give out small rewards as I see students grow in showing compassion. I will also make sure to let the class know why that student is receiving an award so they can do as their classmate has done.
