My third grade students this year are absolutely amazing! I have never seen a group of students that want to learn and grow as much as these kids do. They put effort into everything and are always helping each other to ensure everyone is getting the most out of learning each day!
We are channeling that amazing energy and incorporating a lot of small group work into our daily lessons!
The reading table is something I have been hoping to get for a while now. It would ensure a place for my students to be able to do this wonderful group thinking and learning.
Much of the group work we have been doing has been aligned with that of Thinking Classrooms. So the white boards are a must! They engage so much when they can all work together to solve problems and the white boards help to ensure their thinking is fluid. They can change and redirect their ideas much easier then they can when working with pencil paper so the white boards really do help to ensure the thinking is constant and not just a "one and done" so to speak.
It is my hope to finally be able to provide students with the supplies they need to continue their amazing work through the rest of the school year!
