A teacher presents the past, reveals the present, and creates the future. As a teacher, I want to be able to give everything I can to my students to make them ready to take on the world. Providing printed resources on a daily basis will help my students get to the place they need to be to succeed
My class is comprised of 12 amazing kids that have been classified with an emotional disability.
We are part of an off-site location of a District 75 school in Bedford Stuyvesant, New York. My school does what they can to help us with supplies but we have limited help from parents because of the low-income area that my school is in. My students strive on a very structured environment and as their teacher, I try to do everything in my power to help them succeed.
My Project
My school does the best that they can but since we are a very large organization, they are unable to provide us with many supplies, including printers and ink. By obtaining a printer and ink for our classroom, I will be able to incorporate supplemental activities based on lessons that we complete in class. I will also be able to print out extra extensions for students that may need additional assistance. My students will be able to achieve a higher rate of success by having more materials available to work with.
By receiving donations for this project, my classroom will be improved by having additional materials for my students to work with.
Currently in my classroom, without having daily use of a printer, it is very time consuming to write out homework assignments for each student every night. With the use of a printer, I will be able to use this extra time to work one on one with cooperative learning groups.
