My students need reading comprehension, inferring, fluency, vocabulary, and non-fiction activities to help them practice and master these essential fourth grade skills.

My Students
My 4th graders are amazing. They are highly proactive and love learning. I want to continue fostering a love of learning by making sure they have high quality, engaging materials. Also, by the end of the school year, I want them to confidently be able to complete end of level testing.
My students are mostly on or above grade level; however, I am the only English as a Second Language endorsed teacher on my team.
Therefore, I get to have all of the ESLs in my class. I want to make sure my ESL students have the same educational opportunities as my native speakers. High quality, engaging materials can help motivate all my students, ESL and native speaking.
My Project
All the resources will be used during guided reading time with me or as independent practice stations. These materials will help students practice their fluency, comprehension, inferring, and reading and writing skills. For example, the comprehension station will require the student to choose a passage, read it, and answer comprehension questions about it. This will help the student build their comprehension and will allow me to work with other students in a small reading group.
Most of the items I chose are reusable and can be used for years to come.
I would really like my practice stations to be as worksheet/paper free as possible. Paperless work stations are more engaging, easier to manage, and are better for the environment.
Donations to this project will help ensure all my students have engaging, high quality materials to help them practice essential concepts needed in the fourth grade and beyond: inferring, comprehension, fluency, and reading and writing skills.
