Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I will be starting my third year teaching at this amazing school. When I started here, the school was transitioning from a traditional middle school to an arts academy. I teach instrumental music. Currently I teach four bands and two orchestras. We are a public school that is 4th-8th grade.
Students are focused and driven to excel in the arts as well as academics.
Students begin their journey at an early age and develop their passion for the arts as they progress through the program.
My Project
Recording yourself is one of the most effective ways to improve as a musician. In the band room, we have four practice rooms. We would like to convert one of these rooms into a recording studio. In order to make this possible, we are in need of foam acoustic panels to help with the acoustics in the room. The foam panels help eliminate unwanted echoes that occur naturally in any room. This will allow students to produce a sound recording that is exactly what is being sung or played. The panels also provide aesthetic value that will make the studio look professional!
