Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are energetic and very curious. They enjoy school and learning using all their senses. They are all learning English as a second language. My students attend school in the inner-city. The school is nestled among railroad tracks and factories. All of my students qualify for federally funded lunches. They have insufficient resources yet are the most generous.
My students are thirsty for knowledge.
They love to feel like scientists. They're fascinated with the life cycle of animals and plants. They are always ready to learn, and despite their shortcomings, they always try their very best.
My Project
I am requesting 4 TeachersPayTeachers gift cards to help purchase resources for students to practice math skills in person and online ( for those that will continue to work remotely). The TeacherPayTeachers gift cards will be used specifically to purchase powerpoints to help students with addition and subtractions facts, spelling patterns practice, and reading comprehension texts.
Having a variety of TeacherPayTeachers resources will help me differentiate instruction in phonics, numeracy, and reading comprehension.
This will help me build students' knowledge and meet them where they are in the academic journey.
The last year and a half have been anything but normal. I would like these resources to help my students bridge the gap that was made by the covid-19 pandemic.
