My students need dry erase markers, dry erase sleeves and erasers to help with daily math fluency facts. These materials will help to reduce making lots of photocopies.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Practice makes Perfect" is the phrase of the year with my 3rd graders! All year we have read, discussed and demonstrated that anything in life you want to be good at takes lots of practice.
Currently, I teach 30 3rd graders that are part of an inclusion classroom.
More than half of the student population has a learning disability. Many of the students are unmotivated and lack interest in learning because they haven't been successful at learning. Students live in a high poverty community where more than 95% of student body receives free lunch. In spite of the challenges, our school has created a culture that values all learners and believes that all children CAN learn!
My Project
The dry erase markers, erasers, and sleeves will help us to continue to practice daily and master our multiplication facts as well as vocabulary words. The students are learning that the more you practice; the better you will become.
We have been practicing our multiplication facts and printing a lot of paper. It would be beneficial to keep the sheets in the sleeves so that students can revisit frequently and move on as needed to master all the facts and words.
This will help students to work at their own pace as well as work as a class and small group instruction.
These materials will be such an asset to our daily instruction.
Donations to this project will improve classroom student work by allowing students to practice daily at their own pace, in small group and whole class instruction.
Students can erase and change answers and keep practice worksheets for continued practice and classroom discussion. Students do not like to go back, review and re-do, but with the dry erase materials it helps them to stay engaged and practice the same skills without realizing it.
