My students are an energetic group of sweet kids. Many of my students really want to learn, however their home support is less than ideal. They are continuously telling me that their parents do not have time to read with them or help/supervise them with their homework. It makes me sad that these young children are eager to learn but are only getting support at school. I believe that my students can be very successful as long as they are receiving the proper support during the day when they are at school.
My Project
These iPads with allow my students to listen to stories and to hear good readers as they listen to quality literature read aloud to them. The students will also benefit by using many early literacy apps that will help them practice their reading as well as improve the early literacy skills that are so important for becoming successful readers! Since many of my students do not receive the help the they need at home, using the iPads at school will give them the unique opportunity to use technology to help support their reading skills in a fun and meaningful way!
