This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is located in the second smallest city in Los Angeles County. Our elementary school is 400 students strong. We have 1 percent African American and 98 percent Latinos. We have a 90 percent socioeconomically disadvantaged population and 4 percent foster youth. All of our students receive free lunch. Despite the many challenges they face, my students arrive every morning full of life, ready to learn, and excited to get started on our day. I do my best to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
Asynchronous learning is a valuable tool, especially during this pandemic. Instead of real-time lessons, students interact with the course content through online platforms and materials at their own level and pace. But it needs to be done in a thoughtful way to help students succeed. As a teacher, I would love to provide my students with these engaging options.
Digital resources from Teachers Pay Teachers will help me boost learning outcomes, build community and raises the chances of student success.
This gift card will allow me to purchase the practice tools I'm missing to help address the diverse needs of my students.
