My students are motivated and want to learn. I have educational materials and some of these are worksheets for my students to practice printing and fine motor skills. I send home information to keep the lines of communication open with parents. Having easy access to a printer is vital.
My Transitional Kindergarten students are 4-5 years old.
My class is their first school experience and the first experience for many of the parents. I communicate regularly with families to keep them informed about what their children are learning. My school is small and there is a lot of community involvement.
My Project
My students are active and enthusiastic. We use many hands on materials, but there are times we use worksheets too. At times I have to print extra copies of a particular page so children can have more opportunities to practice. A printer was donated to me for classroom use but the ink is not provided by the school. We have a school copier in another building, but having immediate access for students is important for my young students. We also use the printer to print documents that they create on our classroom computers. They love seeing the things they create come out of our printer!
Having enough ink to print the student's work created on the computer will make such a difference in helping the children make the connection with technology.
It will also help the parents understand the work they are doing in class. I can print extra copies of pages needed for practice and easily print information for parents to keep them informed about what we are doing in class.
