My Project
Powerlifting is a new sport for our school. In the last two years that it has been offered, many of our Junior High and High School students have shown a lot of interest in it. We have gone to several weight meets and even medaled in a few. I love that this sport has brought students out who wouldn't normally try out for the sports we offer here, like baseball, softball and basketball. The equipment that we have in our weight room is second hand but still useable.
I have requested some new items for our powerlifters.
Chalk is for better grip in deadlifting. We are running low on chalk and we also like to bring our own for meets. The weightlifting wrist wraps are great for our lifters for better protection while lifting. The pull up resistance bands are great for working the whole body. The Olympic Bars are to replace the ones we have now, which are wrapped in old tape. Weightlifting belts are a necessity when lifting whether it's squat or deadlift. Safety for our students is number one when it comes to powerlifting. We have a few belts but not enough different sizes. The barbell clamps are easier and quicker to get off and on during switching out plates. The Hulkfit Olympic Hex Weightlifting Bar is just another option for our lifters to practice with.
We would really love to be able to help our group of powerlifters succeed! It is not just a sport for boys, our JH/HS girls are excelling in it as well, and actually have more medals than the boys do! I hope to be able to keep our program growing and succeeding for many years to come. Thank you so much for your support of our school and athletes!
