This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

After two years of the pandemic, elementary students just love to jump in and try everything, preferring hands-on exploration to anything else. This year I have created several opportunities for my students to use free choice time to explore concepts we are studying, and in doing so, they are not only learning about math, and reading, and writing, but they are also learning skills like sharing, appropriate social interaction, and taking turns--things they missed out on during this pandemic.

These pens and quiz cards will give them a chance to play and explore on their own and with partners, but also self correct and grow as readers and mathematicians!
