Powering Learning for SPED Math Students

Help me give my students a fast, reliable laptop to power their learning through clear visuals, accessibility tools, and smooth instruction.

My Project

I use visual presentations, drawing, zooming in and out, annotating, highlighting, and pointers because these consistently engage all my students. Visuals with explicit step-by-step instruction, audio support, and kinesthetic learning turn abstract math ideas into individualized math learning that my students can understand.

This laptop will help my students stay engaged and supported during every lesson without freezing, lagging, or delays.

I will use it to present lessons in Desmos, Zearn, and learning apps; present and record instruction; and use video, audio, and interactive visuals. It can work as a backup device for students to use when their Chromebooks are not working. No one misses a lesson because of tech issues.

It also works with iPads, the whiteboard, and our future Promethean panel, so I can mirror screens, share content across devices, and keep multiple visuals visible for students who need more time to process while I continue instruction with another group on another panel.

This laptop will be a digital storehouse where I can organize and access everything from lesson plans and learning materials to classroom observations, IEP progress records, and student data. I can “mine the data” to make better decisions for each of my learners, track growth, and fine-tune instruction to meet their individual needs.

Over the next five years, this laptop will support more than 175 students across multiple classes. It will save hours of lost learning time, reduce stress, and make it easier to keep instruction flowing. Technology changes fast, but this device has the power and memory to meet our needs. I am not chasing the latest trend. I want something solid and reliable that will let me focus on what matters: helping my students feel confident, capable, and ready to learn.
