This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In a 4th grade classroom, students are expanding their vocabulary. Through context clues, word strategies, and students prior knowledge, they have been able to identify the meaning of some words.

Dictionaries help open a world of new words through student friendly resources and definitions.

As students are learning these new words, not only is their vocabulary expanding but they are also developing comprehension on the text they are reading. If they understand the meaning of the words in a text, they can understand the text they are reading much better.

Thus, students at GLA benefit from dictionaries and materials to assist students in their reading comprehension.
