My Students
My school is a wonderful place. We are a very small school with about 140 students, grades Pre-K through Fifth grade. We have an average of one teacher per grade level.
We are a low-income school, with a high poverty level.
Our students have very few experiences out of school. As a teacher, it is my goal to give them as many experiences as I can. Many of our students never go on vacation or even get a "kid's meal" from a fast food restaurant.
My Project
Having iPads in my class will allow students to work in pairs or independently on projects, and access English language arts apps and websites. My goal is to promote the love of reading in as many ways possible.
iPads will enable me to utilize another method of reading instruction to reach the various learning styles in my classroom.
iPads will provide 21st Century skills to learning English Language Arts. It also provides an efficient and modern approach to reading instruction.
Having multiple iPads in my classroom will allow more students to practice and be assessed at the same time. Students can access apps and websites that supplement my classroom instruction.
