My Project
My 6th graders kick off the year with The Lightning Thief, an exciting novel that sparks curiosity and builds critical reading skills. Right now, we’re using old, shared copies that are falling apart. I’m requesting a class set so that each student can have their own book to read, annotate, and connect with—building pride and ownership in their learning.
With individual books, students will be able to fully engage in our curriculum, follow along more easily, and build strong comprehension skills.
Many don’t have books at home, and having one of their own can make all the difference.
