My Students

We have a lot of learning games and materials that require batteries. Our school district does not supply batteries, and with the hard economic times, I am not willing to ask my students' parents to supply them.

I am a first grade teacher in a low socio-economic school district in Oklahoma.

My school district has been faced with many state cut backs this school year. My students love and want to learn. We live in a high-need community with little supply money.

My Project

My students need rechargeable batteries for all of our electronic learning devices and storage devices to save their work. We have several Leap Pad learning systems that we are not able to use due to the lack of supply money that our district has. If we had rechargeable batteries, my students could use the Leap Pad learning systems to practice their reading and math skills.

My project is very important to me because I feel like we are wasting the resources that are available due to the fact we do not have funding to power the learning devices.

I am counting on donors like you to help my students get "power" so that we can utilize all the learning devices in our classroom.
