This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In today's changing world, I strive to teach my children about environmental responsibility and economics. By equipping them with reusable batteries and a charger, this project would power my students learning tools in an Earth-friendly, cost-effective way.
My students face many obstacles.
93% of the students in my school receive federal assistance and 75% of the children are English language learners. We are fortunate to have CD players and digital cameras to use to excite our children about learning but these resources require a constant supply of batteries.
My Project
Our students have CD players and digital cameras, but when I passed them out today, half of them had dead batteries. When we looked for fresh batteries we discovered that our whole grade level has a battery problem! They are expensive and they don't last very long at all! By enabling our students to use their CD players more, your generous donation will help them learn sight words, concepts about print, and the English language. Our children are also learning to use digital cameras. They digitally document science investigations and special programs with our families.
The high cost of batteries paired with the frequency that we would like to use battery-powered devices is a huge obstacle for my class and my school.
I would like three chargers so that we will be able to have charged batteries ready for our entire grade level to share. The supply of reusable batteries would last for a significantly longer time than regular batteries, and this project would save our school money!
