My Students

Remember film strips or VHS videos in Social Studies class? Welcome to 2013-2014,where the power of projection will improve our classroom!

Our school truly reflects the diversity of our city, and children from all racial and economic backgrounds learn and work collaboratively in my classroom.

My 20 fifth graders are growing up in a technology-filled world, and I need to support them in their quest to master 21st Century skills.

My Project

My students need an Epson Powerlite LCD projector so that we can use the resources available on the internet during whole class intructional time. This projector will mostly be used during Social Studies. As the students learn about various time periods, we will be able to collectively analyze documents and make observations about what we see. Currently, the 20 kids crowd around my laptop when I want them to see something online. Having a projector will make a huge impact!

Do you remember watching video footage of famous speeches in history class?

Perhaps watching a bee pollinate a flower in Science or learning about conjunctions watching School House Rock? I would love to have this projector in my classroom to help the past come alive in our Social Studies program this year The 5th graders will be studying Immigration, the Revolutionary War, Westward Expansion, slavery and the Underground Railroad, and the Civil War. There are so many resources I need to expose them to!
