Poultry Reproduction

My students need 1 egg incubator in their animal science sections of class for animal reproduction unit.

My Students

Agriculture class is more of a laboratory setting but without lab materials, students cannot get the hands-on learning they need to be successful.

I have 78 students enrolled in agriculture education.

Students are from a very rural community, most do not have cell phones or Internet at home. Students do not have as many opportunities to travel or get involved in activities as compared to surrounding counties.

My Project

I am requesting one all inclusive egg incubating system for our animal reproduction unit. Students will use the egg incubator to have a hands-on approach to poultry reproduction. We will use eggs from our own small chicken house to incubate and produce more chicks for the students to raise. Students will be split into groups and each group will be responsible for caring for their own incubator.

Students will be given opportunities they would not otherwise receive outside of an agriculture setting without laboratory materials.

Students will learn responsibility by having something they are required to take care of.
