My Project

The "Growing Scientists" project aims to engage 6th-grade students in hands-on learning through a planting project that will enhance their understanding of plant biology, ecosystems, and environmental science. This project will provide students with the opportunity to observe the life cycle of plants, understand the importance of soil composition, and learn about sustainable practices.

Promote Hands-On Learning: Through direct involvement in planting and caring for plants, students will gain practical experience in scientific observation, data collection, and analysis.

Develop Environmental Awareness: The project will help students understand the role of plants in ecosystems and the importance of sustainable practices in agriculture.

Encourage Teamwork and Responsibility: Students will work in groups to take care of their plants, fostering collaboration and responsibility.

To successfully implement this project, we request funding for the following materials:

A Variety of Pots: To accommodate different plant species and allow for comparisons of plant growth in various conditions. We will need 50-60 pots of varying sizes and materials.

Quality Soil: Nutrient-rich soil is essential for the healthy growth of plants. We request a variety of soil types, including potting soil, garden soil, and compost, to experiment with different growing conditions.
