Posture Perfect: Seating for Success

My Students

My students are creative and talented students who are passionate about the arts. As a teacher, I aim to use that passion to help them understand and discover the world through science.

All of my students seek to understand the world on a deeper level to be able to translate that understanding into their art.

We will be conducting hands-on investigations inside and outside of the classroom. The students will be learning how to ask questions, observe changes, analyze their observations, find patterns, evaluate, and reflect on the results.

My Project

Help us to save our backs and behinds. Students have returned to school from distanced learning for two-hour classes in the classroom. Sitting in one place for that long on outdated or plastic chairs puts tremendous stress on one's spine. Students should have the option to swap out their plastic chairs for another choice. Based on student input, exercise balls were the top choice for a secondary option. In addition, the teacher chairs for myself and our paraeducator currently are outdated, not ergonomic, and have been worn from decades of use.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve student (and teacher) comfort, you will ultimately help to increase student attention and focus leading to increased academic achievement.

The chairs will be used for years to come by myself, our paraeducator, and countless other students so your donation will be well spent!
