Poster Printer Projects to Help Students Retain Information

Help me give my students an inviting classroom to work and learn in by supplying us with a color poster printer.

My Project

As teachers we try to help our kids in any way we can, from interactive lessons, to growing their confidence, to helping them retain knowledge they have learned throughout the year. I really want to help my students by creating Anchor Charts for my walls that will be easy for them to read and remember the information taught. I use graphic organizers regularly in my class. Research proves visual aides help with student understanding and retention. I want to be able to print graphic organizers for my students and have them fill in the graphic organizers as we learn the information, so they can review later if they need to.

Students need visual reminders to help them acquire knowledge.

Color is one the biggest components of creating effective instructional images, hence the need for a color printer. I would like a color poster printer so that the enlarged graphic organizers are easy for students to see and read from a distance. I want the students to be able to fill in the graphic organizers with vis-a-vis wet erase markers on the laminated posters. This will enable my classes to use the posters year after year because they will wipe clean.

Overall my students come from a small town with not many opportunities to use different technology besides what is provided at school. I would love to see students making the anchor charts on their chromebooks by the end of the year and being able to post those charts on the wall to display their understanding as well as their creativity. I want to empower my students and give them the most opportunities to succeed in this ever changing world.
