Help me give my students the tools needed for successful anchor charts. We use Post-it Easel Pad 25" x 30" , Pacon 16"x24" & the Mavalus Tape to hang the charts on the walls.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our district started the school year 100% and my students transitioned wonderfully. Now they will learn to transition again as we enter a hybrid model. The scholars I teach have so much potential and its my job to help them achieve it.
The majority of our students are from low socioeconomic and ethnically diverse backgrounds.
We are an urban school that serves grades preschool through 8th and is limited in funding in all areas. My second graders are determined, spunky 7-8-year-olds. They are eager to learn new things and want to share all their thoughts and ideas with me and their classmates.
My Project
Our class uses rich discussions to create Anchor Charts for Reading & Writing Strategies. These anchor charts are placed around the room to use as tools to "anchor" the students' learning and better their understanding. The charts are used as a guide for students to reference as they complete their partner and/or independent work.
The Super Sticky Easel Pads can be costly for the teacher, but the confidence and ownership the students gain from seeing their contributions on paper are invaluable.
Students feel valued and develop a great sense of classroom community when they see their thoughts/understandings are acknowledged are shared with the class.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
