Help me give my students a fun and engaging environment where they can access resources (post-it pad anchor charts) and play games that develop problem solving skills and adding multi-digit numbers.

My Students

My school is full of wonderful students and families! We are located in a very diverse area and service residents from both single family housing and trailer park communities.

The majority of my students are Hispanic, many of whom do no speak English and over 40% the students at my school receive Free and Reduced Meals (FARMs).

I am very excited to be working with the students at my school. They are hardworking, kind and eager to learn. My students and I appreciate your consideration.

My Project

My goal is to provide my students with a fun and engaging classroom where they have access to the resources they need in order to be successful in math. One way that teachers ensure their students can retain information and have regular access to it is by making anchor charts. I would use the post-it paper and the markers to create anchor charts with my class so my students can refer back to different math strategies that we've learned in class. I would use RACK-O as a fun and engaging way to reinforce problem solving, comparing numbers and adding multi-digit numbers.
