This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In today's 21st century world, my goal is to educate 21st century learners. My students come for a low socio-economic background with a high number of English learners. They live mostly in apartments, but some live in nearby motels, shelters, or are homeless.
Technology is not a priority among the families at my school.
Their focus is on day to day survival. Many parents work 2 or more jobs just to make ends meet. They want a better life for their children.
My Project
Distance learning has been a challenge for teachers, parents, and students alike. When we are finally able to return to the classroom, it will most likely be a hybrid model. With part time learning at home and part time at school, a blended learning environment has never been more important.
My students will need a quiet learning environment, and sharing materials will no longer be an option.
My students will need their own personal headphones. The work we do digitally in the classroom will carry over into the work they do at home.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
