Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items for this project, such as beads for bracelets and tote bags, will significantly impact my students' learning by providing hands-on activities that foster creativity and collaboration during SEL activities. Creating bracelets and decorating tote bags together will serve as a fun and engaging way for students to bond, helping to build a strong sense of community within the classroom. These activities are also opportunities to discuss and reinforce important values like kindness, honesty, and respect, which are crucial for personal development and positive classroom dynamics.

My goals for this project are to create a classroom environment where students feel connected to one another, learn to appreciate their differences and understand the importance of being good citizens/students.

By working on these creative projects, students will not only develop fine motor skills but also engage in meaningful conversations about what it means to be a good person. This will help them internalize these values and apply them in their daily lives, both inside and outside of school.

What makes my students special is their diversity and the unique perspectives they bring to the classroom. Each student has their own story, background, and set of experiences, which enrich our learning environment. Through this project, I hope to celebrate these differences while also highlighting the shared values that unite us. My students are eager to learn and grow, and I believe that these materials will help them do so in a way that is both enjoyable and impactful.
