Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As teachers, we want what is best for our students. We are always striving to help our students grow and thrive. Having visually engaging and empowering environments is just one of those ways.

Kids need to feel safe in their learning environment and to know that they are cared for.

Bathrooms give us privacy to reflect, pause, and look in the mirror. The student bathrooms in our school have seen better days. Student bathrooms need to be a space where students can feel empowered.

One way to make this happen is to transform an ordinary school bathroom into a positive space. The vinyl will be used to create positive messages on the windows and mirrors. The posters will be hung on each bathroom stall and the walls. Feminine products will be provided for discreet student use.

Renovating our school’s restrooms with inspirational quotes that promote positivity, kindness, and teamwork will give our students the courage to see that they have a school community behind them and that they are not alone.
