My Project
At our school, all students work on a Behavior Modification Program where they earn points for following directions, investing in their education, respecting themselves and others, and expressing themselves appropriately. Students who maintain all of their points throughout the day are given a reward period and a special snack before going home.
My students come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds in an urban neighborhood.
They attend alternative educational programs designed for students in elementary and middle school who struggle in a regular school setting for various reasons.
My students deserve to feel proud, believed in, and that they are able to create something wonderful.
They struggle with a range of learning disabilities and emotional disorders, and some lack a stable home life, but even with the external stressors that surround them on a daily basis, they remain hardworking, talented, and driven.
The candy and treats will be used to celebrate students’ accomplishments and special occasions helping to create a warm and friendly environment. The requested supplies will increase attendance and directly address the issue of learning gaps created by frequent absences, students will feel special celebrating their birthdays, successes, and academic achievements.
Positive moments in the classroom go a long way in motivating our students beyond the classroom.
