Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have several incentives in place in my classroom to encourage my scholars to do their best. Distributing tickets when I catch them trying their best or making good choices is one of the incentives. The put their names on the tickets and add them to a jar for a chance to win on Fun Friday! I try to pull at least five to eight tickets a week, depending on how many are in the jar. I do this for my main class and my ELD class. I have already had to refill my prize box twice. These scholars just can't stop doing their very best! I am asking for donations to refill our prize box again! I also let them earn class points, so they learn to work together. I feel like these two incentives show them the importance of individual responsibility as well as good citizenship. Their class prizes usually consist of a sweet treat I buy at the bakery for them. I have a wonderful class and would appreciate the opportunity to reward them.
