Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At our school, students in grade K-5 earn happy grams for demonstrating lifeskills, lifelong guidelines, and meeting academic goals. Students are able to turn each happy gram in at the front office and pick prizes during their lunch time on Fridays. Being able to choose a prize for meeting their behavior or academic goals is very motivating for students, and we have had a lot of success as a school for implementing this strategy.
My goal for this project is to be able to supply students with school appropriate prizes for them to choose from.
This is something that they look forward to each week. I chose items like pencils, erasers, and bookmarks because those are popular items- especially for our students who love to read and write. Our group of students are special because they are encouraged by every adult at school to do their personal best- and they do on a daily basis.
