My Students
My students attend school at a Title I school, so a majority of my students come from families with low incomes. Some of them are learning English as their second language and having hands-on and very visual learning experiences are best to really help them get the vocabulary and be successful as they are in the later years of elementary school.
My students are full of excitement about learning and love coming to school!
The students I work with are full of great questions and really care about doing their best. Some of them are dealing with some challenges in life, but they are all wonderful kids and a joy to work with!
My Project
These books and games will help build character and teach students positive character traits as well as conflict resolution. Learning how to deal with different emotions is important in our school environment. Having good examples and different examples are vital in teaching them appropriate reactions. Our Principal highlights a character trait each month and these books tie into each different trait-this will allow great reinforcement for each trait.
Having kid-friendly books to help teach positive character traits will help students relate.
The magnetic tiles will help with their science standards as well as being a fun thing to play with.
More than half of students from low‑income households
