Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Motivating students to learn takes a lot of work. Especially for English as a Second Language Learners. The work is difficult and written for native speakers of language. I find that snacks candy and other items and a day to celebrate often motivate students to work harder to learn. I have 40 second graders in my classroom. They range in age from 6 years old to 8 years old. They said for six and a half hours would only a 20 minute break struggling to complete work above their grade level. Every week I set aside time to celebrate them and their achievements. But in order to do that I need gifts and snacks and other items to motivate them to work. Contributing to this project will help me to motivate kids to strive harder and continue to push to achieve academic success.
