This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am an art teacher at a Title 1 school. All of my students are low income and have not been given the opportunity to use high quality art materials to express themselves. The isolation of the pandemic has stunted the social emotional growth of most of my k-8 students. Doing process art in class has allowed my students to regulate their emotions and connect with others in a meaningful way. I want to continue on the path of building up the well being of my students through the use of dynamic and versatile art tools such as the POSCA paint markers.
