This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is located in the neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen in New York City. I have students from various backgrounds, home situations, and income levels. The majority of my students live below the poverty line. Many of my students aspire to be the first in their families to attend college.
My students are passionate, unique individuals who come to our school to be engaged with real-life challenges and issues that are integrated into every area of the curriculum.
All students who attend our school have an interest in business, entrepreneurship, communication, technology, and sports.
My Project
As a special education teacher, I need to be able to help struggling students on the spot. Having a portable projector will allow me to present and model whenever and wherever students need it. Especially since we will be short on space this year due to COVID-19 restrictions placed on schools.
With a portable projector, I will be able to pull students out of class and into a safe part of the building and be able to pick up instruction.
With the projector, I will be able to project onto a screen using any device and any wall available.
