Portable Chess & Checkers for All!

Help me give my students easily accessible checkers and chess games with storage to put away.

My Project

Keeping students engaged but calm during longer periods during lunch or indoor recess can be a challenge. Finding something that is engaging, low maintenance and fun for all can be difficult.

In our building students have been learning how to play chess and checkers, allowing them to practice problem solving, game strategy and good sportsmanship in a digital age where many students have forgotten how to appropriately interact with their peers in person.

In order to facilitate this we have created portable chess and checker board with 3D printed pieces. These are easily set up and contained within the cart and able to rolled out at a moment's notice. The children all vie for an opportunity to play any time they are allowed to do so.
