My Students

Two square miles. That's how large my district is. My tiny district, which is right next to Buffalo, New York, is a close-knit community that is always looking for ways to improve.

Since I began working in this district over ten years ago, my goal has been to get my students to see the importance of reading and writing in their lives.

This past year, was one of the best yet! My students chose books they wanted to read, and spent time in class each day reading. They found books they could say they truly loved, and thus developed a passion for reading.

My Project

This past school year, my students fell in love with books. I know this is mainly due to the wide variety I have in my classroom library. The titles in this project will hook my former AND new students. My goal is to turn more students into readers.

I am asking for multiple copies of some of these books because my students started a book club this past year and I want to keep it going!

These 10th, 11th, and 12th graders chose most of these titles THEMSELVES after hearing me discuss many different ones, so I know they will love them.
