Help me give my students a popcorn machine to help provide a healthy incentive for positive behavior as well as fundraising.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Farhat's classroom raised $442

My Students
My students go to school in Southeast Michigan, just outside of Detroit. I am blessed with a very kind group of students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade.
My students are inquisitive, self-motivated, and ready to learn.
81% of the students in our building are English Language Learners, many of them in the country for less than one year. More than 90% of my students are economically disadvantaged and qualify for free or reduced price lunch.
My students are learning to love math and science! These subjects are difficult for many of them because they lack the academic language needed. However, through hands-on activities, we are bringing new life to these subjects.
My Project
Students love positive reinforcements and rewards. What a wonderful and healthy way to reward our students! We would like to provide our students with a healthy alternative to some of the sugar loaded snacks they typically bring to school. Students who meet their academic or behavior goals will not only get a tasty treat, but also will learn to make healthy food choices.
Another way we will be able to utilize a new popcorn machine is by providing a healthier fundraising opportunity for our student body.
By having popcorn sales throughout the school year, we can utilize the funds to purchase supplies or take our students on more experiences to build their background knowledge.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
