Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are in grades nine through twelve, plus additional years of vocational transition (ages 15-21).
We are a small, public school tucked away in the beautiful mountains.
My life skills students provide popcorn parties to classes by transferring the machine to designated areas, distributing popcorn to the student body, and then the clean-up and proper storage of the machine.
Advisory teachers will complete a Google form that has available dates for a popcorn party. My students will then request additional information from the teacher regarding the number of students and flavors requested.
This has shown to be a positive interaction between their peers, without the pressure of social stigmas.
