My Students
My students are from low-income/high poverty areas as well as being special needs. These students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. They have come to our school due to the challenges they have faced in the regular school setting and have not done well.
Our program strives to help these students by giving them the social, emotional, and educational tools they will need in order to function and hopefully thrive in a regular school setting.
After completing their time with us, they return to their regular school setting, rejoining their peers with the needed skills to be successful in and out of the classroom.
My Project
What is a school function or event without food? I would like to enhance my class and school functions with the gift of popcorn.
This popcorn machine will be used in conjunction with my class' positive behavior intervention program.
Students will be able to purchase theater-style popcorn with points they earn for positive behaviors and actions. The popcorn machine will also be able to be used to enhance full school functions. This will allow my students to run the machine for benefit other students of the school allowing my students to build a positive self-image and make other students happy.
