This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items I am requesting will be part of a large stewardship project to create urban farm areas within our school community. We will plant various types of pollinators and create ecosystems to attract bees, birds, and butterflies in order to help pollinate the current garden beds we have.

Our community is lacking areas for bees and butterflies and we would like to advocate to bring them back by beautifying our school community and surrounding neighborhood to create homes for these beautiful creatures.

We aim to create sustainable urban farming for our students and families. Additionally, we hope to learn all about the local species that inhabit our area.
