Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic but often lack the motivation to work on their classwork. They also need support with English speaking and listening. Most are English learners and are struggling in their English Language Arts class.
My students come from a diverse school in a large city.
Part of the school is a magnet with students from all over the city. My students, however, are comprised mainly of residential students from the local low-income neighborhood. Most are English learners, as well.
My Project
To use their Chromebooks, students needs mouse pads These will be given to each student to keep and use daily. The pads will help with the laptop use, but also reduce wrist wear while using Chromebooks.
Students need help paying attention and focusing.
For in-class presentations, laser pointers and a Bluetooth microphone will help with this. The microphone will work with the classroom speakers, so each presenter will be easily heard throughout the classroom. There are daily presentation with Homeroom, so the classroom needs for the speakers to be easily heard.
