Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These markers, easel pads, and paper are items that allow students to take ownership of the creative process and present their ideas in a tangible, artistic way. Having high-quality supplies elevates the final product, encourages pride in their work, and reinforces the value of publishing their voices. This hands-on, interdisciplinary project strengthens skills in writing, visual design, editing, and critical thinking.

My students are passionate, curious, and full of unique perspectives.

What makes them truly special is their willingness to explore big ideas, share personal stories, and support one another in creative expression. For many, this is their first time seeing themselves as creators and publishers, not just students completing an assignment. Zine-making gives them a sense of agency and authenticity that honors who they are and what they care about.
