My Project
I was previously funded for 8 podcast microphones, which arrived a few weeks ago (you can read that proposal on my page). Upon opening them I learned that they did not have the ability to go from analogue to digital. In order to truly see the vision for my "Podcasts, Not Papers" project, I will need a few more items. Specifically I am asking for two sets of tascam us-4x4hr 4-channel usb audio interfaces and eight pairs of OneOdio Wired Headphones - Over Ear Headphones. The Tascam interfaces will allow two groups of 4 students each to connect their microphones to a single recording source, and the OneOdio over ear headphones will allow them to monitor their recording in real time - without having to share ear buds.
The ability to record group conversational podcasts will allow students to engage in meaningful dialogue about their topics, resulting in a more authentic assessment in which ideas and exchanged and debated, as opposed to a monologue report of their learning.
My students are already very excited to begin podcasting, we just need to finish getting the necessary equipment to make it happen.
