Pocket Constitutions for All!

Help me give my students their own Pocket Constitutions! This has become a tradition in my class that upcoming students look forward to, but unfortunately, our normal source is no longer supplying them.

My Project

Every year in my US History classes, all my students earn a Pocket Constitution. Throughout the year, we annotate the Constitution as we learn about different historical topics and current events to show how the topic influenced the Constitution or the Constitution influenced the topic. I make a really big deal about loving the Constitution to get students excited about a document that is so critical for all Americans to be familiar with. On Constitution Day, all of the teachers in our middle school proudly show their copies of the Constitution to any student who asks, and students cannot believe that all of the teachers have a copy. I also host a break-out room on Constitution Day, and the winning team unlocks their Pocket Constitutions months ahead of their classmates.

Today, our first day of school, many of my former students came to me with their Pocket Constitutions, proudly showing me that they were ready to use them this year for their US History or Civics courses.

Their excitement and readiness to utilize these Constitutions in their studies is a powerful testament to the importance of this tradition.

Your support in carrying this tradition into this year and the next would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, our usual donor has not been able to provide us with the necessary resources this year. I am eager to ensure that my current class, as well as next year's, will have the opportunity to receive their own copies of the Pocket Constitution.
