This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are the most amazing little third graders that any teacher would love to have in their classroom! I have 24 inquisitive learners who are smart, energetic, curious, and excited about learning new things. Because of this, It is my wish to be there to provide the support they need during these uncertain times.
I teach in an inner-city public school where 77% of the students receive free and reduced-price lunch and breakfast.
My students are pretty diverse in culture. Many of them are second language learners.
The students in my class enjoy math and science. They are in need of resources to support STEM instruction and activities. It is my goal to create more opportunities for exploration in math and science.
My Project
The learning materials that I wish to bring to my classroom will help provide a more tactile learning experience in math. We currently do not possess the kinds of materials or the number of materials that can address the academic needs of all the students.
The math manipulatives on my wish list will allow opportunities for exploration throughout the different math concepts, and any student, irrespective of their academic level in math, can benefit from using the materials.
Please help me to enhance the students' learning environment with these extremely useful tools.
