Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At our school, 98% of students are English language learners and come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Developing strong listening and speaking skills is crucial for their language acquisition, and having a pair of headphones with a microphone allows them to engage in meaningful practice. These tools also help them prepare for important assessments, such as the TELPAS test, which measures their progress in English proficiency.
In addition to supporting language development, headphones play a vital role in students' daily learning.
Many of our educational platforms include instructional videos, interactive lessons, and game-based activities designed to reinforce key concepts. Without headphones, it can be challenging for students to fully engage with these resources in a classroom setting.
Unfortunately, the cost of providing headphones for every student is often too high for teachers to cover on their own.
