Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach third grade in a high-poverty school in Georgia. One hundred percent of students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are diverse in academic ability, socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, and life experience. They are excited about school and love learning new things. My third graders particularly love science and being able to conduct experiments and learn about the world.
I want to provide my students with the best education possible.
We need partners like you to help us get these resources into our classroom.
My Project
Each student in my class has specific academic needs. My primary goal as a teacher is to provide each of my students with the instruction he or she needs in order to improve their learning. Whether the student needs more support or to be challenged more, by ultimate goal is to move them beyond their current ability in order to show substantial growth throughout the school year. My students need small group instruction for things like reading, writing, and math. Small group instruction allows me to differentiate learning to meet the specific needs of each student. I need the help of donors in order to provide sturdy stools for students to use at the small group table.
